Unmask her sorrow

Feet long satin
a veil
unfurled
though wrinkled
with
uncertainity
a disparity
over
the infant's face
in a race
of unmasked
understandings
uncovered
scraped belongings

in gloom
to live
and the same
to die for
in a war
with
the stone-hearted
you
the heartless
me
and this cruel world
hurled
they feel
for the
slumped
yet masked
sorrow..

  2. I am the one who captured this image. It was taken in Ahmedabad. This sad scene was captured whilst this poor woman was begging in the middle of a street intersection. The look on the childs face just breaks my heart every time I see this picture. While I usually frown upon having my photos pilfered, what you wrote was beautiful. I feel cold inside that I can see this happening and not offer this poor woman everything I own. As soon as I took the picture, my car was speeding away...
